We moved gamers with a surprise cover of the franchise’s most popular track, ahead of launch day with Tash Sultana
The challenge
PlayStation wanted to build hype and fuel conversation for the upcoming launch of The Last of Us Part II. While the franchise has global popularity, we had to do something that would appeal locally, to Aussie gamers.
The idea
Colliding the worlds of music and gaming, we partnered with acclaimed Australian artist, Tash Sultana, to re-record ‘Through The Valley’—the iconic track from the game’s Reveal Trailer that went viral in 2016.
Tash brought her hauntingly beautiful vocals and guitar talent to create a truly unique rendition of the track, and we made an accompanying music video to share online. Due to overwhelming demand from fans, we ended up releasing the cover on Apple Music and Spotify.

The Results
The video garnered over a million organic views and the track featured on Spotify’s top 10 most streamed, exciting both Australian gamers and reaching the massive following of The Last of Us fans everywhere.
